The Department of Education is offering a master’s degree in ‘Transformative Coaching and Leadership.’ The degree will prepare graduates for careers in coaching and sports leadership in professional and collegiate athletics, K-12 schools and community-based sports organizations. Inspired by the legendary John Wooden, the goals of the program include enabling prospective candidates to develop their own philosophy of coaching and leadership—and one that is premised on a holistic understanding of persons and sound principles of coaching, teaching and learning.

Students take nine courses and complete a capstone project focusing on their own personal philosophy of coaching.
