Juanita Tamayo Lott was one of the student strikers in the historic 1968-1969 SF State Black Student Union, Third World Liberation Front (BSU/ TWLF) Strike and a pioneer in Filipino American Studies and Asian American Studies. She also authored Asian Americans: From Racial Category to Multiple Identities, 1998; Common Destiny: Filipino American Generations, 2006; and Filipinos in Washington, D.C. with Rita Cacas, 2009. She is featured in the film, Agents of Change, an award-winning documentary on the BSU/TWLF student movements at SF State in 1968 and Cornell University in 1969. The Juanita Tamayo Lott Collection resides in The Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.
