Teaching and Research Interests
I am dedicated to urban science education. As a science educator in the Teacher Education Program, I work with pre-service and first-year teachers as they obtain their teaching credential and Masters of Education Degree. I have guided teachers through science pedagogy, action research, and teacher identity. In my science education research, I am particularly interested in science teachers’ social justice dispositions, science discourse in the classroom and science teacher evaluation. Currently, as a part of the Urban Teacher Residency Program at UCLA (IMPACT), I am exploring science teacher effectiveness using multiple measures.
