Ellen Rae Cachola
Current Information Studies Student, Information Studies PhD
Ellen-Rae Cachola is a PhD candidate in UCLA's Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, specializing in Archival Studies. Her research interests are community based archives, feminism and demilitarization. Since 2004, Ellen-Rae has been working with community organizations in Hawaii and San Francisco to empower women’s voices and analysis on militarism, peace and security through new media production and community organizing at local and international levels. Ellen-Rae is currently the Project Manager for the Archival Education Research Institute, an initiative to diversify and pluralize the archival field. Her writings have appeared in Foreign Policy in Focus, Peace Review: A Journal for Social Justice, Walang Hiya: Literature Taking Risks Toward Liberatory Practice, and InterActions: UCLA Journal of Education and Information Studies.
