Andrew J Lau is a PhD candidate in the Department of Information Studies, where he also received his MLIS with a specialization in archival studies. His dissertation focuses on documentation practices in alternative spaces and artist-run organizations, and the socio-cultural implications of community-sourced documentation in archives. Other research interests includes theories of the record, community informatics, and social systems theory. He is the current Information Studies Editor of InterActions: UCLA Journal of Education and Information Studies.
