Writers Anonymous: Center X Provides a Creative Haven for Teachers, Aspiring Authors
August 12, 2012 - While a monthly gathering of writers may not be unusual in Los Angeles, the motivations of these aspiring novelists, poets, and essayists are far from typical. Teacher-participants who have attended the summer institutes of UCLA’s Writing Project have gained more knowledge of best practices in the teaching of writing to students from kindergarten through college. In its Writers Anonymous program, Center X, the signature education research institute at the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies also provides a forum for these teachers to talk about their own writing outside of the classroom.
