Megan Franke to Serve as Interim Dean of GSE&IS
June 25, 2012 – An announcement by Scott L. Waugh, executive vice chancellor and provost of UCLA, named Dr. Megan Franke as interim dean of the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies at UCLA. Franke currently serves as chair of the Department of Education and is a professor in the Urban Schooling division.
“I have asked Megan, in her role as interim dean, to continue to support the work of the school during this time of transition and to attend to personnel and budget issues,” Waugh said in an announcement on June 25. “Chancellor Block and I are grateful to Megan for her service and are confident in her capable leadership.”
Franke will fill the post of interim dean from July 1 through August 31, prior to the arrival of incoming dean Dr. Marcelo M. Suárez-Orozco, who will join UCLA on September 1.
